The story of Entrepreneur Hut
Today I feel like sharing with you a little”behind-the-scene” about Entrepreneur Hut. It’s more than an “update” about what’s going on with the blog, it’s like a “goal type of post”. You can read about Content is King part 2 tomorrow. Another reason to subscribe to my RSS and stay updated or to follow me on twitter (if you don’t know what Twitter is, read more about it here).
When I first started this blog, I wanted to find a way of making money online that I could share with others. A method that will not require a lot of time, as I had not got the time to dedicate my self to my a full income online. You can visit the archives to read my first posts.
Some of you may know that I’m currently trying to reinvent this site. To give it a new look, a new fell and add some extras. Why I wanna do that? Well, recently I was talking to somebody about selling the majority of my “offline” company. While I was on vaction in Spain (and you can see more pictures by visiting the gallery section of the site), I was siting one night out on the balcony and thought about how on-line money can give you the freedom that everybody wants. I’m talking financial freedom and the time freedom to do what you want and still make money from anywhere in the world.
So what to expect from the blog starting from now?
First of all, contests. I held only one contest on my blog and it did bring in a lot of traffic, if you promote it right. I will try to offer valuable prizes, but I won’t promise anything big at first. At least not till I find some good sponsors.
Also, I will try to reward everybody that contributes to the growing of the site, like the top commentator. I will offer a free review to one of his/hers site. I’ve already sent an e-mail to September’s top commentator and waiting for his reply.
I also feel that I haven’t shared with you guys a lot about being an entrepreneur. Taking risks and finding oportunities everywhere. Time management and task management will be discussed at least once a month.
What else to you want to read on an entrepreneur’s blog? Feel free to comment (curently there’s nobody in the top commentator spot).

Content is king
…but marketing is the queen.
A few days ago (the 5 persons who followed me on twitter knew this first hand - another reason to follow me on twitter) I found out that Google had dropped my page rank from PR2 to a PR1. I will try to guess in this post a few reasons of why my page rank went down.
Content is king
Well, I’m sure you heard this from a lot of people. Build a good site and the traffic will come. This is partially true. But I’m also sure that you heard a lot of top bloggers talking about the importance of marketing a content site or a blog in this case. It’s a shame that a lot of writers have very good content but just a few visitors per day. I had my “spike” days, when I had a very good article. You would see in the Google Analytics like 70-100 unique visits in a normal day and then you would see an increase like 500 unique or 800 unique per day. Good content wasn’t everything though. Promoting some of my best articles had something to do with it.
So, what is my point? Well, if you scroll down in the footer of the page you would find the archives by months. You could see that March, May and June totaled 4 posts. So in 3 months I only did 4 posts. Although in June I made one of my best posts ever (Exchange E-gold, Paypal, Moneybookers) that brought this site a lot of organic traffic, I didn’t increase my post frequency nor my efforts to promote my blog or one of my best posts, so Google decided that since the blog was not updated for a long time they should decrees my page rank.
Backlinks
Well, remember TNX? I wrote an article about at the beginning of this year on how you can use this network to boost your traffic. Well, after using TNX for a whole month, I had like 1100 and something backlinks to my site. Of course, almost all of them were from PR0 blogs and they didn’t bring quality traffic so I’ve quit using TNX. Well, guess what? My backlinks dropped more than 50% in the following month. I had like only 520 backlinks; another good reason for google to lower my PR.
What to do?
Increase my post frequency and produce good value articles. And then promote it. As for backlinks… read all about it in my next post. Remember, this is just and intro post for a series of articles; subscribe to my RSS to stay updated. I have a lot of surprises prepered for October.

Follow me on Twitter
Well, I must admit I first heard about Twitter a long time ago (6 months maybe), although the domain is registered from over 8 years and a half and the site has a PR of 8.
Anyways, from a couple of months ago, everybody started tweeting. You wanna have all the latest updated about somebody, follow him on Twitter. So I decided to give it a go and I love it. It allows you to write a quick post about what you are doing, virtually from everywhere you are (I will configure my phone later to see if I can tweet using it) and read about anybody you want. This is my twitter account. Feel free to follow me and stay updated.
Below you can see a short video explaining better than me what Twitter is and what it does.

Affiliate Marketing Challenge with Tyler Cruz
I’m sure a lot of you heard about Tyler Cruz. If not, be sure to check his blog. Anyways, Tyler runs an affiliate marketing challenge on his site with the support of MarketLeverage one of the hottest affiliate networks nowadays.
What do you have to do to win the prizes?
Well, register under Tyler’s name and earn as much money as you can promoting ML offers. Well, all I can say is kudos to Tyler for running this type of contest. He wins 5% of all the generated money and the publicity for hosting such a contest. The marketer wins also from 2 perspectives. First, you win the money you generate plus a great prize (will discuss that later). Second, the competition makes you push your limits and give out all your best. It’s our human nature to be better then someone, to be in the top spot, to be the best.
What prizes are we talking about?
Well, we are talking about big prizes. The first 2 competitions were a really success so ML went over the top and spare no expenses. There are 3 categories of prizes + the blogging prizes:
I must admit, I didn’t had time to participate in Tyler’s challenge although I’ve signed up to MarketLeverage under his link.
I’m in it for the T-Shirt! And if I win it, I will give it to one of my readers in a not-so-far-away contest. So make sure you chek out Tyler’s Challenge and his wonderful blog.

I’m a PC
I’m sure you all know Apple’s commercials with Mac and PC. Mac being the trendy one, PC being boring and always having trouble with something. Well after the Bill Gates and Seinfeld ads (let’s not talk about this right now-really lame ads), they decided to “upgrade” PC. And below you have the commercial.
